The Vallejo Times-Herald is running a piece today on home-based entrepreneurs in its circulation area.
It’s an interesting read in a broad sense, meaning you won’t find a whole lot here in terms of specifics, but it does give a nice overview of running a business from one’s home and some of the perks and pitfalls that some in the Vallejo area have run into. Such as Nora Moss:
About a year ago, Nora Moss moved from American Canyon to Tempe, Ariz., and took her home-based Internet sales business with her.
“I started selling on eBay and it grew,” said Moss, 47, “I’m now developing some product lines of my own.”
Moss said she started her home-based business about eight years ago after spending time as a librarian, a real estate investor and a stay-at-home-mom. She said she thinks the human factor can determine the success of a home-based business.
“I think it depends a lot on the person and their personality,” she said. “For a gregarious, type-A, it works more easily.”
