The chances are good that sometime within the next week or so, health care reform in some form or other with either pass the Congress, or fail utterly. We’re guessing pass, and whatever form it eventually winds up in, there are at least five areas where the HCR package will most likely affect small businesses.

One of these is a so-called Health Care Exchange that will be set up:

The Health Care Exchange: The health care exchange is meant to provide alternative insurance options for small businesses. Currently, small businesses are forced to buy from a very select group of plans to meet their workers’ needs. This market is anti-competitive and, by creating “insurance exchanges,” reform would create a broader market of options, according to White House reform proposals.

Other areas include the Small Business Tax Credit, a reduction in job lock, decreased worker sick time, and how the size of your business will affect the amount of change you’ll see. See the Business Insider for more information.
